I ordered a 36 inch planter and two 24 inch planters. I was delighted when the planters arrived. They are exactly what I was looking for. The larger planter is strangely more sturdy than the 24 inch ones. I was expecting the opposite. The 24 inch planters are a bit bent up and one of the mounts is crooked. They are overall easy to assemble. The brackets seem to be a little more than 2 inches, but I used one of the screw/nut sets on the back side of the brackets to make them fit the rail more snugly. The coco liner is a little bit thin in some places, but it holds soil fine. I paid about $18 for the 24 inch planters and $24 for the 36 inch planter, which is fair though I would have liked the smaller planters to be less bent up and crooked for that price. Once there are more plants in the planters, the imperfections don't matter as much :)

Love love love! Made my deck beautiful, get out your twist tie’s because it will need to be adjusted to hang on any rail that you can’t use hammer on-heavy when filled! I purchased 3!

These window boxes install without drilling a hole or screwing into the siding or windowsills. The cocoa lining is not enough to keep neccessary moisture. I took the inside of new diapers and mixed it with equal amounts of garden soil. This should reduce daily watering/rain.

Really liked these- although, once we put dirt and flowers in they kept bouncing off the railing of our deck ( like the arms that hook onto the deck just couldn't handle the extra weight of some flowers and dirt). We ended up finding a good solution and were able to screw them into the railing of the deck so they won't budge. So, they're great but might require some extra support

My husband hung these up and once I planted flowers in them they made the front of the house look so much nicer. We are very pleased with them.

Loves the looks but coco liner is cheap quality. The material is somewhat delicate and water seeps through quickly. I'll have to spend another $25 for a decent liner. The brackets to secure it to the railing were too big. I had to use 8 large zip ties to secure it. Otherwise I like the looks and it is light weight compared to other planter boxes.

its always tipping downward, and it cannot be tightened to rail any more. its not that deep in depth and the soil dries out totally in one sunny day. my flowers are not doing well at all, and am very disappointed with this item. keeping it, but will move to another location next season when it new, larger replacement is purchases. not an awful item, but not good enough.

Got these for back deck. We have metal railings that are only about 1 inch thick. To install we just screwed on of the metal pieces on the holder itself, the put up against the rail and hammered the longer end over the rail so it bent and would stay on. So far has held up.

Very large planter. It holds a lot a plants and I still don't have enough potting soil in it. Looks very pretty hanging on a porch railing.

This looks beautiful on my porch railing. I recommend 12” zip ties to hold it more firmly as it will get heavy with soil and plants.

Great for the price! A little harder to wprk with if you arent putting dirt in them..i was putting artifcial flowers in so the nest keeps falling...needs to out something heavy around

I have only one problem with this product. It says it fits railing from 2" but I have 2" railings and I had to use small blocks to keep the planter from falling down too much. It does not adjust small enough for my railings. Other than that time will tell if they are sturdy enoght to last more than one season.

Have been waiting to purchase a planter for a part of my fencing...the other side of the fence has three smaller planters but wanted a longer one for the front side and this purchase makes my fence look like I wanted. Great product and great price! I would send you a picture of our beautiful planter but...yesterday's unusual hail...and I mean hail...has somewhat made the planter look unappealing.

I got this planter for my front window. I went with this one over purchasing from big name brick&mortar stores because I liked this style much better. I can’t speak to install as I had my handyman install this while he was doing other projects. Sturdy ones installed and looks chic on my window. Highly recommend!

I am extremely happy with my four window trough planters, easy to install and VERY high quality. Looks beautiful.

Perfect size to hold my mint garden, deep enough to hold enough soil that the basket retains the required moisture level. Reversing the bracket I was able to fasten it securely to a chain link fence.

Disappointed that it didn’t include the screws necessary to hold it to the wall. Already to install but had to go to the hardware store for screws. That’s supposedly to be the advantage of buying on Amazon!!

At first I purchased 2, and then I ordered 2 more. They were great additions to our deck, where we like to grow some of the edibles- oregano, basil, etc. They are VERY easy to put together and were adjustable to our railings. I would highly recommend them.

Cannot believe the value of this. Similar planters go for much more in my local stores or at places like Walmart. I simply mounted mine with two long screws to the wooden board below the window sill outside my garage window. It's not very heavy at all.

For the price these are awesome. They came with Hardware but I was just able to measure and slip them over nails under my shutters. Pretty easy. I'm excited to get my geraniums in place.

I love the look that these are going to give my house. I have not planted anything in them yet but I’m so excited that I had to post pictures right away!

This is well made and gets the job done but the best part for me is that the part that attaches to the railing is depth-adjustable. . . This is especially good for me since the rails on my deck are super wide.I was pleasantly surprised to find it came with the coco-liner which sold separately can be a little pricey.

Nice, quality especially for the price. Ordered then received in 24 hours by standard free shipping. Will buy more.

Perfect! Hanging on the front porch railing. But be advised that the birds love it and will steal it piece by piece to build a nest.

I have been using this planted for a while now and I honestly love it. It was quick and easy to set up and all you need is a phillips head screw driver and a wrench to really tighten it down.Fill it up with soil, and it takes a decent amount of soil and depth, so it is good. I currently grow herbs out of it in Los Angeles and it does a wonderful job at showcasing my herbs and looks really pretty on my balcony. Would definitely recommend if you're planning on getting into gardening in your apartment but don't have that much space.

This is a perfect solution to providing a planting area at a perfect height for my clients wrought iron veranda in a senior living unit. I had to use electrical ties to keep it level as the hanging brackets made it lean too far forward. Now she can enjoy seasonal plants that bloom and give joy year round.

These are great and best price. I too had to use zip ties to keep them tied up onto my fence I hung them from, but with zip ties they work fine. Look great.

These are great! I ordered 2 if the 36inch planters. I am hoping to get a third in the future. My herbs are doing so well! They were so easy to set up and are extremely sturdy! We zip tied them solely because they are so pretty and we live in a very public area. We didn’t want anyone taking them. ;)

Well made and an excellent price. Have seen similar or exact for double the cost. Great value....the large 36” are limited only three per customer. I needed more so I added the smaller version too. And was gifted an additional 3 to complete the look! I did have to use zip ties since the upper balcony is a smaller rod iron Than the least/smallest size the sliding hangers can go.

These are beautiful and add so much charm to my otherwise plain 1950s ranch. We attached them to stucco using masonry bits and plastic anchors. On one of them we could only get through the top two holes because of an issue with our own stucco walls (no fault of the product whatsoever), but it seems strong and stable, even completely filled.

I looked and looked at many hanging baskets to purchase (even found some at Big Lots). The ones I found at Big Lots touted fitting over my 2x4 railing, but did not (I had to buy a separate bracket to extend their brackets with), and were not very deep in sharp contrast to this basket and liner. The basket is made of excellent material, easy to put together and adjustable so you can fit it on multiple sized railings, even ones as large as mine without purchasing something extra. I love this basket way better than any of the others that I have tried that were 'non-plastic'. This basket doesn't take up extra space above the railing which is what I was looking for unlike the plastic ones that sit "on" the railing. I will be purchasing more in the future!

Works fine. The depth of the holder should be deeper because on hot dry days the plants do not retain enough moisture. Deeper holder would allow more soil which would hold more moisture.

Yes, I do like them for the application I am using them for, but, I ordered 3 and one of them was tweaked out of shape. At first I thought I could gently move one end back to square but as I did it popped one of the spot welds. That made me think that it was not bent but poorly built.I like them for their look but I am disappointed with one. My eye always seems to go to it to see one end more than an inch lower than the other.

Loved it but it would fit of my porch railing because they are rounded at the top. Wish it had worked though. Gave it to a friend and she loves it.

For not being made of a heavy metal, these are the best planters I've ever seen!! They go up easily, and because they come with the lining, I could plant my seeds and within a month or so, my wall is going to become full of color and I can't wait. I got two of the large and two of the smaller ones and I love the way they balance out each other.

I bought one of the 24" planters and was happy enough with it that I bought a second shortly after. Like many of the other reviews mention, the brackets to hang them with do not go shorter than 3", instead of the stated 2", which results in them tilting away a bit from the railing but it wasn't a huge problem for me. They're easy to assemble and seem sturdy, though the 24" get heavy enough that idk that I'd be confident in ordering the 36". Overall I've been very happy with them.

My wonderful son and his wife got me a gift certificate for Amazon. I didn't want to spend it on "just anything"...something I really wanted but didn't want to spend household money on...I purchased 5! Two of the short ones (I think 24") and 3 longer ones (36"). My biggest problem was I purchased them in the winter....I had to wait until spring to "test" them! But it was worth the wait! They are so lovely. I have two in shade and 3 in sunny locations. The compliments keep coming and coming! My deck looks like a garden magazine cover! Lol...I will say I read reviews that the nuts and bolts that came with the planter were too small, I gave that info to my husband so he just automatically used heavier duty screws. So far they are holding up well. 2 "big" thunder storms and still attached!

These are huge, and so lovely! It took me a minute to figure out how to attach the brackets, since they're all screwed into each other and you have to take them apart before attaching. You'll also need a Philips Head Screwdriver. The main planter is metal covered with a rubbery paint finish, but I think that will just make it last longer, and it doesn't detract from the looks. They are designed for railings at least 3-4 inches across, but are adjustable to fit bigger railings. I am very pleased with the quality of this product and will purchase more, especially at the $21 price point!

I really like my windowboxes. I have placed them on the rails of my back porch. They were very affordable and easy to put together. The only issue I had with them was the brackets did not have a way of gripping the rails but I was able to bend them in fairly easy to give them a 90° angle in which to hold onto rails. They are also not very sturdy like others I’ve bought but for the price and for the purposes I have they will do

It's a pretty sturdy planter, and holds quite a bit. I did dock a star because the part that hooks to the railing is kind of huge. It meant that it sagged when installed. It was an easy fix with some zip ties, but the zip ties aren't the most attractive thing on the porch so it still isn't ideal. Overall I'd still say they're worth it!

I set it up with some columbines to attract hummingbirds and while I'm still waiting for the hummers to show up, this has been awesome. I recommend this.

This is one of the BEST deals ever! Was shipped & arrived within 4 days. The quality is really good - coating on it will definitely protect it from weather, which was a concern of mine. The cocoa mat fit well, but was a bit sparse on the edges. My green thumb neighbor said to line the bottom with weed block out, and I plan on that. This is an amazing price.....HD wants $40+ for 1......

I hung this trough on my patio railing for an herb garden. The coconut lining did not fit well but I made it work once I filled with potting soil and planted my herbs. So far, I am pleased with my little herb garden trough.

Very stylish. Easy to assemble, using the directions. My rail is much narrower than the brackets allow in either configuration, but I was able to modify the design, using what was provided, and they're firmly attached to my rail now.

Edit three growing seasons in: These are awesome. I don't bring them in for the winter and the frames have absolutely no rust. I did this spring finally have to replace the liners but that's expected with the natural fibers. My zip tie/Velcro fastener solution to hanging is solid as ever. Plants love them. I love them!--These are very pretty with a couple of caveats:1 - I ordered four of these to use on my balcony and the inserts for each varied wildly in size. Some were perfectly-sized, others sag quite a bit even when filled with soil and plants. I got used to the asymmetry but may not be good if you fixate on it.2 - The hanging brackets were far too large for me to use to hang on my balcony. Would be great if they were adjustable! Instead, I used a combination of zip ties and velcro fasteners to attach and it's done fine.

These are a wonderful find, especially for the price. Before ordering these from Amazon I'd gone to my local Home Depot to look for these. I had a bit of sticker shock. So I came home empty handed and decided to check out Amazon. These were about $7.50 less for each one. I read the reviews and decided to try them despite some of the unhappier opinions. I ordered 3 for my back deck, assembled them and then decided that due to my procrastination I'd only fill one. (It was mid July by the time I got around to working with them. I'm a big "get the most bang for your buck" kind of gal.) Now, my mom had a green thumb. Actually, every one of her fingers was green and there wasn't anything she couldn't grow, even living in MA! She loved these window troughs and would fill them with ivy, geraniums, and anything else that suited her at the moment. So I thought I'd do the same. I filled the trough with good potting soil and several plants. When I was done, that trough was so heavy that I was afraid the brackets would snap. The brackets barely hung onto the porch rail. I knew I did something wrong, as mom's never did this. I went to Lowe's this time and looked for what she might have used to fill the trough. When I saw the bag, it rang a strong memory bell! Sphagnum Moss! I called my sisters and pieced together what she did to fill them. Following that pattern I filled my trough 3/4 of the way with Sphagnum Peat Moss. It's very light stuff that retains moisture well. I made an intent (hole, well, etc) for each plant and added about 1 cup of potting soil per plant. After I added the plants I covered them with about an inch of potting soil, added a layer of the Sphagnum then a thin layer of mulch. And the planter was 1/2 the weight, even well watered! It's hanging well and I'm excited to do them all next year. I didn't have to tweek the trough's bracket design or bend the brackets or wire them in place as others have had to do. Hope this helps! A side note... I bought a large bag of plain Sphagnum Peat Moss. Some people may not want that large a bag. The only smaller bag available at both Lowe's and Home Depot was the Miracle Grow Sphagnum Peat Moss. If you choose to use this, just be aware that it contains fertilizer so there's no need to use Miracle Grow on top of this. (I'm a big fan of Miracle Grow!) And a HUGE fan of these troughs!

Exactly as described at a fair price. Bought it to replace a broken one and it matches the other window box perfectly. Also comes with a liner!

I bought the 36" version. I was expecting it to be matte iron and was surprised that is was shiny. It seems very deep when empty but looks great when filled with plants. As other reviewers pointed out it's a bit tricky for thin rails, but I took the suggestion for zip ties and that worked great! One joint already broke, but it's my fault for trying to bend. With the zip ties its not going anywhere. Would repurchase again for $22.

I actually thought I was just ordering the liner when I placed this order. I'm surprised at what a great price I got this for since it included the actual metal trough as well! Since my other one what not in great shape and not as deep, I ended up replacing the whole thing with this new one. It comes with the brackets you need to install and it was easy to do! It seems to be holding up quite a bit better than my last one as well. Very happy with this purchase!

Very pleased with this item. I was skeptical to buy it since I didn't think it would fit on my rail. This item has 2 ways to fit into your railing and I rigged the 3rd way with zip ties. My rail was about 2 inches wide. I bent the supports that came with this item and then also used zip ties. You can't see the zip ties since my rail is also black but I included the pictures. Very pleased that it included the coco fiber mat. Bonus pictures include a photobomb of my poodle.

At first sight I was happy: looks exactly as pictured and I was ready to assemble it and fill it with flowers. But then: the screws and nuts to assemble the brackets would not tighten: the plastic nuts' threading just didn't "grip" and therefore the bracket assembly was unreliable. Hey, I have a balcony with neighbors below me -- I didn't want this trough to fall onto their grill! I ordered a different window-box at the same time as this: I kept that one and it's "hanging pretty" on my rod-iron balcony railing; so this one is going back. I probably could have gone to Home Depot and found some fitting nuts... arrrgh! there's a reason I ordered this for being delivered to my front door!

These are beautiful and sturdy. I have them under my windows mounted onto brick. I get compliments ALL the time. In the fall i put pumpkins and mums in them and the weight has never been an issue. Winter I put holly and evergreens with some lights.. they are always so pretty and a great addition to my home. One of the best outside purchases I have ever made. The price is phenomenal for what you get! My neighbors asked me to send them the link so they could get some too!

Came as expected; however, after attaching it to the window frame/sill on my garage, it leaned forward and all of the plants and weight of the dirt would make every fall out of it.... also, we couldn't put it flat up against the window sill or the dirty water would run down the garage siding and it would look bad. I had to shove a block of wood between the window box and the window sill to get the box level. It looks ok now and no one can really see the wood block in the back, but it needs to have a better way to secure it.

So pretty. I've had it for nearly 3 years. I ordered from america and arrived here in Korea within a week or so. I live on an upper level apartment and have no change to interact with nature, so this was great. I grow lavender and petunias in mine. Looks great from my window. Material is not super sturdy but not horrible, so I use zip ties for extra attachment.

Has a very nice look on my balcony railing, and it helps the summer flowers stay moist. My only disappointment is that it does not hang straight at all: it tilts way forward. This prevents you from filling the soil level as high as possible, and in the case of balcony use, tilts your flowers away from the sunlight. Seems like better engineering design could have prevented this maybe? Final note: pretty easy to install.

Really works well as either a window box, for as in my case a fence topper. I have 6 of these along my fence. They allow for drainage very well. Very easy to setup, with many options, depending upon how you use the brackets.

Well constructed and sturdy. wish I had purchased the larger one but it's not bad, might buy more in the future.

Item arrived on time, exactly as described. Mounted securely to our brick exterior, directly under the window. Seemed a tad bit flimsy as we added dirt, but held up just fine. Great product, especially for the price!

I attached this to a brick wall, so didn't have the bracket issues that others describe. But I have deducted two stars because the metal frame is rather thin and bends easily, so I'm concerned how well it will hold up over time and under the weight of wet soil. The liner is also pretty thin. Also a concern as to how well it will hold up.

PLASTIC NUTS/BOLTS WILL NOT HOLD WEIGHT, WILL STRIP OFF, BASKET WILL FALL. YOU WILL NEED TO PURCHASE METAL, METRIC NUTS TO SECURE UNIT. The iron basket with coco liner is indeed beautiful. I purchases two of them and am very happy with the appearance. However, the weight of the unit with soil, plants and water pulled and stripped the plastic nuts right off the metal screws. A disaster was averted, the baskets did not fall to a 3-story demise, and two round-trips to HD to get the correct size nut (metric 6.0, ) have solved the problem.

I bought this 36" planter, along with the 12" Antoinette planter the company also makes, to install on my deck railing. Installation required a trip to the hardware store for stainless steel screws since none are included with the packing material. The planter is metal and seems mostly solid especially considering the price. Due to the lip on my deck railing, the planter actually bows a bit as it doesn't rest up against the deck railing directly. I used 3 screws on each side to secure the planter -- two on the top of the railing and one over the side. I will be getting some type of bracing block so that the stress on the trough to try and limit it being over taxed.

Been out for a season already. No rust, holds up well, looks classy and beautiful. Would buy again.I did bend the metal hooks so that the weight of the flowers didn't tip the basket....worked well and didn't have to use wire ties or anything additional.

You know the old saying "you get what you pay for"? That applies to this. We bought 2 of these, and they seem to be more flimsy than what our local garden shop sells. Of course, they are half as expensive too... Some of the bars didn't appear to be welded straight, but since those were on the back side I didn't consider it a detrimental flaw. The coconut moss that came with this also seemed a tad thin. I will be curious to see how these hold up the the elements and time.
