It’s great. Gave it four stars because it doesn’t hold water well. Does best with bushy plants like strawberries and herbs. Beans didn’t do so well.

I am enjoying my vertical garden. The corn and string beans are doing well. The watering system works very well. Keep the location of the watering holes in mind when you plant your produce. I planted the beans and corn from seed. I had better luck by planting a tomato plant. Lettuce did not do well from plants in this garden. Collard greens were attacked by something so they germinated, but died off.

I've had this Green stalk for a month or so. All the seeds have sprouted and plants are growing. I've noticed though a lot of gnats that seem to be attracted to the soil. I read up on that and the article said not to worry. Ok. Then today I noticed the bottom tier wasn't draining and was full of water. I figured the drain holes must be clogged. So I unstacked the planter and tipped the bottom tier to drain a bit. Then I took a chopstick and pushed it up the drain holes to unclog and the water started pouring out. I noticed maggots on top of the soil. Ew!! I don't remember anything in the instructions that said to cover the holes or put rocks in the bottom before putting in the soil to keep them from clogging. Now i have a dismantled planter that im not real pleased with that i paid quite a bit for. None of these issues were brought up on videos I watched or items I read before purchasing. I can't send it back. Next time I'll stick with individual planters and forego the 'fancy stuff '.

I have a container garden and love my Greenstalk. I am currently growing, onions, stir fry brocolli, rosemary, basil, oregano, thyme, thai basil, flat leave and curly leaf parsley, lemongrass, chives, dill, lemonade, marjoram, basil, cillantro.Every plant is doing well. You have to buy the greenstalk movable stand with wheels. Make sure you use good quality potting mix, not soil. You should mix fertilizer in the soil prior to planting. It comes well packaged. US and family owned company. My package came with some seeds. Highly recommend.

Very easy to assemble. I use this in my sunroom. I purchased a simple furnace move for ease of movement at Lowes. Also purchased a hot water tank drain pan, 20" diameter. As I assembled the levels the bottom three inches are the clay hydroponic balls. Then filled with seed starting soil. Plenty of water capacity in drain pan if system if overfilled. Plenty sturdy to move around with the simple furnature mover. Water about one gallon of water each day. If too much water in bottom tray, the drain hole in the hot water tank tray will drain into a small planter tray.I rotate the tower every day or two for even lighting in the sunroom. These adjustments with mover, pan and clay balls defiantly make this far easier to use.Ordering my second tower today for edible flowers. SP

This is not easy to put together and the directions are not very clear. I’ve had half my herbs survive and the other half die. The convenience of the tiers is nice but I don’t think for the cost I would recommend this.

I have been super successful with everything I have planted from seeds (cabbage, spinach, green beans, lettuce, kale, Brussels, herbs, marigolds, onions, celery) so many! Please see pics! The only recommendation I suggest is:DO NOT BUY THE 20” PLANT CADDY TO SUPPORT THIS PLANTER! Purchase the one made for this planter from the GreenStalk website (I couldn’t find it on Amazon). They use Amazon pay/prime directly on their site!I bought the down under caddy to move my GreenStalk around the pool deck after a month, with minimal movement, one of the supports gave and all 5 tiers fell right on top of me! Gave me a nice sized shiner, a horrific mess to clean up & a heart break ????!I wrote this in the review b/c another customer highly recommended this product for the GreenStalk. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THE “DOWN UNDER CADDY” FOR YOUR GREENSTALK!I plan on purchasing another GreenStalk as a gift!Thank you GreenStalk!!!
