as others have noted, the top pot does not lock on to the other three although it could easily have been designed to. Surprisingly small potting volume for the size. The drain hole is positioned so there is some water retained at the bottom of the pot which helps keep soil from drying out.

My garden fence has a 2x6 top rail and these fit great. Just right for flowers and herbs and the design provides a small amount of water reserve in each unit. I bought 2 originally and ordered 3 more I was so pleased with the units. Top planter is loose and only held in place by soil weight. It's heavy enough with moist soil but be careful if you use on a balcony.

The pots were sturdy and the perfect size for a herb container garden. She can even replug the drain holes and bring it indoors in the winter. The only snag was the assembly required to mount the top pot to the bottom 3.

Great planters...look very nice on our porches

I bought this thinking it would be a great space saver on my small balcony. The hanging planters are too wide. My railing is maybe 2-3 inches and is metal. The hanging planters are made for railings that are 6 inches or more in width. Although they say you can have it on any width, when I put it on, it did not look like it would survive a strong wind gust. In addition, the space allocated to actually plant is very small. If you have the right size railing it could be a nice product. It was just not for me. I also held on to it too long so now I cannot return it :(

Love this planter! Growing lettuces and spinach on deck handy to kitchen. Doesn’t take floor space. Pretty too

We only ordered this for the three that saddle the porch rail. We would order more if we could order without the top one.

Exactly what it shows. :)

Smaller than expected, and no easy way to anchor the top planter to the other three.

Held up through first season well enough. Hides sun from one side. Would consider for a friend given the amount of sunlight they receive

These are nice planters, they're sturdy and fit well on my balcony's wood railing. I'm sure that they will last a few years (if kept out of the elements when the cold weather comes). I would have given this 5 stars but I paid over $31 in May, now they're less than $25. Shame on me!Bloem MRP421-46 4-Pack Milano Rail Planter, 21-Inch, Terra Cotta

This is almost a super product. It fits great over the 5 1/2" railing, deep enough that it won't easily dislodge. But the individual 'buckets/pockets' are small 6" diameter and 4" deep. I'm no expert so maybe it's suitable for perennial plants. I couldn't figure out how the top planter locks onto the bottom ones. Why have those grooves if they don't fit over anything? It was easy enough to drill holes and zip tie together just something wasn't too thrilled having to do. Lastly, the top planter is a lot shorter than appears. It does not reach the edges of the bottom planters. I suppose when the plants fill in it won't be that noticeable. Until I find something else, I would buy these again. Allows easy access to kitchen herbs, price is more than reasonable and shipping was very quick.

Love everything about these. Ease of install, looks nice and perfect for a backyard deck garden

This got here in essentially 6 days on 2 day shipping, which was fine. But then it didn't come with all the drain plugs, and over half of the ones that actually made it here were popped out and they are unnecessarily difficult to pop in. The product itself is good, the handling sucked.

Works great but confusing to assemble.

I have a metal rail on my patio and with a few zip-ties I made these secure and I love it. Herbs on one side and flowers on the other. Its perfect.

I love love love these. They fit two different sized railings, so I can move them from the railing on my covered entry (small) to the railing on my walkway (larger) when it's sunny and they fit securely no matter where they are. As previously noted, the top planter doesn't attach to the bottom ones, but I haven't found this to be a problem. For where I have them, I don't use to top planter since it would block the sun for half of my herbs, but it's a great size to rest on the railing next to them. These are the perfect size for entryway herb garden, for a single thyme, rosemary, terragon, etc... Buy them!

Be prepared when you buy these. They are rather small. I did not stack them but used the 3 "separated" pots to hold a small herb plant. Used the top one that is flat bottomed as a separate planter. They work well individually. There is really no way to attach the top pot to the bottom three without drilling, making some sort of connector, etc. that does not come with this item.

Bought three sets of these planters and am waiting for my 1st batch of herb seedlings to mature enough for transplant. These planters will enable me to place an herb garden in better sunlight in a very shady back yard.

Planted these on earth day with beautiful flowers . They didn't fit on our railings , ours were too small . But it's ok we put them on ground around new tree we just planted in honor of our late daughter . Very sturdy and looks nice .got here very quickly in secure packaging . Make sure you punch holes in the black areas in the bottoms for drainage . No instructions on packaging . Which you don't really need . Many different ways to set these up . Enjoying purchase .

It would have been 5 stars but the top container just sits on the other 3 containers. On a deck, the top container would just bowl off of the other containers. It's real awkward looking too, it just kind of sits there. It looks like it has notches to rest in the other ones but it doesn't. The other three are great and fit on my 2x4 railing.

These are great! I have many plants growing in them, they lie over the railing in my balcony so that I can have pots in the sun in a place where I would not have otherwise been able to put them.

I have a set of these that I bought last year, and ordered 2 more this year. I can have so many more flowers than with a plain flower box. Great product. I am very happy with it.

I liked the concept of having all of the planters together. One thing I have a question about is the three bottom trays fit over the railings but does the top planter lock on to anything or does it just sit on top of the bottom three? Please let me know before I fill it with dirt and it comes crashing down. Thanks, K. Eckert
