Very rich, perfect for my home garden. I've never been so excited for fancy dirt. My seeds took very well to it. It helped germinate a Jarrahdale pumpkin sprout and Cilantro sprout within a week. Highly recommended for home veggie gardening. Safe for my ladybugs that help protect my plants from parasites. See photos.

This is one item that I have saved in my Amazon favorites list. When I say that this potting soil has helped tremendously in helping me keep and houseplant alive and thriving BELIEVE me. I couldn’t keep nothing alive prior to 3 years ago. I don’t babysit them at all like I watch other youTube bloggers. I use this, some orchid bark, perlite and my trusty moisture reader and that’s it!!! I have found it much cheaper at Ace Hardware and I only order here on Amazon we they don’t have it in stock and I need it in a pinch. Excellent for drainage!

I was happy to find some dirt, at a low price ~ under $5.00 total (item + FREE s&h), on AMAZON vs. all the local / big box stores were sold out; it's only July, but the seasonal / summer stuff is gone and quickly being replaced with fall! This is enough to fill (2) small, plastic shoeboxes; I grow a little something, indoors, with them - as I'm NOT a true gardener. HAPPY with this purchase and would buy again!

Although I am new to collecting houseplants; I am a quick learner. There are many potting soils available to us; however, I do not trust the quality they claim to have. Some name brand soils came with bugs, too moist, etc.I am very happy with this brand and plan on using it for all my plants. I use it as a base, adding to it depending on the plants requirements.Thank you for providing a soil that is trustworthy and affordable.

I love that it is organic and OMRI certified. That is the very basic requirements for potting soil, top soil, etc. When I planted my pothos in the soil, after a few hours, the green of the leaves became much more vibrant and bright. Super awesome potting soil. I will definitely purchase again.Note: If you have sensitive skin, you might want to wear gloves when using this soil. My skin burned a little bit upon contact. Nothing major, though. As soon as I had cleaned my hands off, the irritation stopped. Just a heads up.

First time repotting a plant, first time buying soil. I was very nervous about getting a bag of soil and having it full of bugs but to my relief, that definitely wasn't the case! Highly recommend. Definitely coming back.

It's a very nice potting mix, I used it to pot a good amount of houseplants, and they're thriving! The soil holds enough water to just be moist when watered and drains very well. I've had problems with other potting mixes where they refuse to retain any water at all and end up drying out within a few hours, this is definitely not one of them as it remains moist (as needed, not overly moist). I'd suggest buying it when it's on sale though, I'm pretty sure it goes as low as $5 when the time is right. Good luck, I hope all your plants fair even better than mine!

It's dirt. Had little bits of stick and ground up roots from other plants in it. My plants seem happy and nothing has gotten sick even several weeks after adding this to the garden.

Inexpensive, organic, and full of the right nutrients! When growing cannabis seedlings, add a little peat moss, bat guano, and bone meal for an extra boost!

These bags are quite small so you need to calculate your needs. It is a good quality mix, no lumps , twigs etc just good soil compared to other bags I purchased at a large home/garden goods store.

It came well packaged and the soil itself was very moist and rich feeling. Not to mention, my Golden Pothos are thriving after repotting them using this potting soil mix. I will definitely purchase again!

Just repotted to large plants from very small retail pots that needed repotting for a long time. The soil is rich, real soil, very black and loamy. Just enough vermiculite in it to help keep it from solidifying. I think I notice a difference just overnight. My Giant leaf Philodendron is opening a new leaf.

I purchased this bag of potting soil to use to start my seeds for my spring garden. This was my first time using Black Gold as a seed start in my mini pots. I have used it before in my raised beds, I placed my seeds in the soil and spritz them with water to dampen the seeds and soil. I was not abled to place them outside in the green house immediately because II had guest that came over three days in a row, so I sat the pots in a box on a table near the window. Three days later I was in awe. The seeds were blooming and growing and tilting toward the sun. The potting soil did all the work. I am a customer for life. I will add photos once my daughter shows me how to add them.- I hope this helps you.

Bought this soil as a base, let it dry out on 10 gallon pot, then added kelp meal, crab meal, worm castings, coco coir, and perlite. then covered to really come alive. Best soil I ever used next to fox farm ocean floor and happy frog. Organic soil will always have something living in it. If you know nothing of gardening and what to add to your soil then dont add a review. Fungus gnats cant live in dry soil, so let it dry out. I dont want to give a lesson on making amazing soil but all soil needs things added. just depends on what your growing. I say do more research and dont just buy a bag of dirt and think thats all you need. 5 stars from me. If you want tips on the best soil mix for what you grow just let me know.

It came very moist and I didn't have any problems with bugs. I used to go grow a little herb garden. The seeds germinated quickly and have grown into nice young plants. Very flavorful young plants might I add. My rosemary is so super bright and fresh tasting. I also just used to to re-pot a baby parlor palm, so we'll see how it grows

I planted a tomato plant in this soil and I am completely astounded by how large the plant has grown. I've got other plants next to this one in different soil and there is no comparison on size and health of the plant. This soil rocks.

I cannot ask for a better potting Soil!!Delivery: Received the item on time, well within the delivery date actually.Packaging: The soil is well packed with no leaks and arrived without any damage.Function: The soil worked perfectly. Every seed I planted in this germinated without a problem. I am an amateur gardener and recently fell in love with the beauty of growing my own vegetables. I live on the third floor and I do not have much space available on the patio. I had to arrange the plants I have in a careful position so that they receive adequate sunlight during the day. A lot of soils failed this test and so I had problems germinating seeds that require simple care. With this soil however, I was able to grow the following successfully:1) Potatoes2) Tomatoes3) Green Chilies4) Onions5) Beans6) Mint & CorianderI had also planted Wheat grass, Snow flower blooms, Roses and other flowers successfully.

I bought this because I needed a little more potting soil and didn't want to go back to HD.On the left you see the soil I got from home depot and on the right is the black gold .This is after 2 weeks.

was afraid it would be more like soil, but it was more like potting mix.... had seedlings in burpee organic mix at first and it stunted all of them.. this one the seedlings thrived.

Good stuff! I've been loyal to Miracle Grow for years but thought I'd try something different to repot several houseplants and some herbs. They seem to love the Black Gold and are growing quickly. You have a new satisfied customer.

This is the best! I put a basil stem inside it, the one I got from the grocery store after like 2 weeks I have a nice blooming basil plant. I love it. You can just plant the stems of the herbs you get in grocery store and they grow really fast. And now it has flowers and they fell down in the soil and are growing into new plants by themselves . No need to buy expensive seeds. Just use the herbs from kitchen.

Soil is much denser than I thought it would be. Soil remains soggy for day post watering. Would recommend for water loving plants but cut it with cactus potting soil if you want other plants to do well.
